Seeing how almost every item around has a barcode, and how almost everyone with an iOS device can scan barcodes; Wouldnt it be great to put it to good use?

This simple, yet handy tool will allow you to scan a barcode and load up a website using that barcode to assemble the sites URL.

Web application developers, hobbyists, enterprise personnel, and even users at home. Whether it is to access an intranet web application, searching Google or Amazon.com for an item (via its barcode), or keeping track of the goods at home.

Provided that the target URL contains in its structure a placeholder for the scanned value, the possibilities are too many.

For example, to search for a specific barcode in Google the URL has the following structure:

http://www.google.com/search?q={t}

Where "{t}" is a token in the URL that gets replaced with the scanned barcode. This will load the following URL:

http://www.google.com/search?q=1234567890

Provided the scanned barcodes value is "1234567890".

The self-contained web browser provides access to the target URL from within ScanForURL. This keeps users from opening tabs in Safari every time a barcode is scanned.
